From business, to culture and trends, your company provides limitless resources for nearly every facet of commerce, accounting for the industry’s $6 Billion dollar revenue to Minnesota. Now that’s something to write home about (on stationary, of course!!!)

As members of the Printing Industry of Minnesota, Inc., you know the integral part your business plays in this world. There is no doubt what you do everyday has a profound impact on how we live. In fact, the day Johannes Gutenberg invented the first version of the modern day printing press, print has become central to our existence.

Your collective efforts have proven the vibrancy of the printing industry and with your support it is our hope to generate interest among the many young people in Minnesota seeking fulfilling career options. To tell the story of this exciting industry, we have introduced a number of statewide initiatives offering opportunities for students to explore the rewarding careers in the printing industry.

STUDENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The Printing Industry of Minnesota’s Education Foundation seeks to provide opportunities to those students wishing to develop careers in the industry. With the generosity of the Pohlad Family Foundation we are able to offer an intern wage reimbursement program to our members across the state, who are willing to provide summer internships to hard working students with a keen desire to get hands on experience Click here to learn more and download a form to participate. While the extra help in tackling those impossible deadlines will be more than welcome, the greater service will be your role in mentoring the young folks that will one day continue the strong industry tradition of today.

VOICE OF EXPERIENCE (VOX)
With schools across the state, it is our vision for members to speak to various classes, schools, and organizations in your community about the printing industry. Through the Voice of Experience students can hear about the many facets of your business and the industry, and ultimately draw a new audience to your doors. After all, no knowledge is more valuable than firsthand knowledge.

SCHOOL SUPPORT
PIM Education Foundation is very active with Minnesota schools (colleges, technical centers and high schools), working hard to impress students with the options of print careers Although PIM goes on site to speak to students and attend career fairs, many of the print program instructors realize the real value for their students is seeing a shop in action! . As you know, education budgets across the state are strapped.
How can you help?

• Financial Support Field trips are expensive; pledge to support MakeAnImpression with a donation to cover transportation costs
• Host a Field Trip Instructors need printers willing to provide a tour for their students; add your name to our list
• Visit a School Volunteer to spend an hour speaking to graphic arts students in a classroom, or help at a Career Fair table
• Donate Items Handouts for students at class visits and career fairs - anything with your company name on it (pens, bags, etc)

SURPLUS PAPER DRIVE
To support and continue to reach out to new audiences, the Printing Industry of Minnesota, Inc. coordinates paper donations in the fall to the print instructors across the state. Members can donate paper for this initiative.
